DRAFT LOCATION – We are holding the live draft in San Diego, California this year keeping up with the custom thus far of hosting at an unsullied, fresh location. Be advised: (1) it is illegal to shoot jackrabbits from the back of a streetcar in San Diego and, (2) according to local 6.05.440, one may not allow his or her dog to chase a squirrel in the summer. Just sayin.

Veteran franchise Regal Beagles will be this year’s MC. A Holy Cross ‘98 grad, team manager Scott “Copper Pipe” Larson has promised a Crusaders-worthy event, themed Judge Smail’s Jetlags and Fresca Jell-O Shots.

As usual, all teams are invited to attend. There will be post-draft golfing at the notorious Torrey Pines. The draft party is the premier event of the season so I am hoping that we can get together as many teams as possible. The first 2 seasons saw west coast teams take the trophy. Looks like the Beagles are next in line to take the ring.

DRAFT DATE / TIME – I have gone ahead and chosen Labor Day weekend again this year. We can hold the draft either Friday evening the 29th, or early Saturday morning the 30th. Being that this will be hosted on the west coast, the earliest we will start on the east coast is 11am. This was our time slot last year and worked out well. We will keep the 2 minutes per pick timeline unless anyone thinks we need to extend it. Please reply/comment on this blog post with your choice for draft day and we will go with consensus.

There’s a lot going on, so quit procrastinating. We are 19 days out. Pay your League Dues so we can have the lottery and set the draft order. As soon as all teams commit you will know where you stand. Any and all new teams will be placed at the bottom of the draft order per Amendment of the Constitution.
